The desk
About Spokeshave
Spokeshave is the named entity behind spokeshave.online. It publishes educational notes on leftover hours of a full week — treated like thin shavings from a spokeshave iron, not like a gouge through sleep and the next day's job.
The name is a tool, not a method. A spokeshave is set so the iron takes a curl; the rest of the board stays. The library uses that picture to talk about extra work that can sit in an evening or a Saturday morning, and extra work that cannot. Jurisdiction is Brasil. There is no public street address. Contact is by email only, at [email protected].
How topics are chosen
A piece is commissioned when it can be written without assuming a reader's money, hours, or household. Hours, a rate after costs, a weekly record, and offers that gouge are the four recurring cuts. Topics that require a personal diagnosis, a sales funnel, or an earnings forecast are declined.
Sources are named in the article: survey programs, books, and peer-reviewed papers. When a finding was later revised — Katz and Krueger's work on alternative arrangements is one example — the revision sits in the same paragraph as the original claim. Contest is part of the grain, not a footnote buried after a pitch.
What the desk does not do
- It does not sell courses, lists, coaching seats or memberships on this site.
- It does not publish testimonials, success stories or before-and-after portraits.
- It does not promise income, recovered evenings, or a changed budget.
- It does not offer financial, tax, legal or employment advice.
How we advertise
Paid placements, if any, describe the library in the same third-person terms used on this page. They do not claim knowledge of a viewer's leftover hours, debts, or family. The destination of an advertisement is this site, not a disguised checkout. The landing copy matches the advertisement: educational notes, no earnings promises.
Corrections and commercial disclosure
Factual errors are corrected on the article itself when the desk is shown a source. A note of the date of correction is added. There is no affiliate program on these pages at the time of publication. If a commercial relationship is later attached to a piece, that relationship is named on the piece.
A worker who writes a weekly maximum for leftover hours is describing capacity, not following a Spokeshave protocol. The desk does not run a protocol.
